Students in this five-week Spanish immersion experience earn 6 credits in Spanish.
Courses include:
- Span 201-202. Intermediate Spanish
- Span 301. Composition & Conversation
- Span 309. Spanish Civilization & Culture
- Span 335-435. Spanish Topics: Modern Language/Literature & Culture
- All Span 400 level courses
Students stay with selected host families, two students per family, with all meals provided. Also included in the program:
- 6 SBU credits in Spanish
- Living and studying in Salamanca, Spain, exploring Salamanca from the past to the present
- Cultural excursions, visiting historical sites, monuments, museums, El Prado, Reina Sofia, Royal Palace and Castles in Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, Avila Cáceres, Sierra de Francia, Leόn, and Astorga
- Enjoy Andalucia and Southern Spain, visiting the Cathedral-Mosque of Cordoba and its history, art and architecture as well as buildings from Roman times to the present
- Granada, visiting the famous UNESCO Citadel, Alhambra and its gardens
- Sevilla and its beautiful Alcazar (Palace in Sevilla) Maria Luisa Park, the University of Sevilla, Barrio Santa Cruz, and more
- Flamenco show
- Cultural excursion to Galicia and visiting the famous city of Santiago de Compostela
- Overnight cultural excursions include hotels and two meals
- Books for your courses
- Basic medical insurance in Spain
- All transportation in Spain, including transportation to and from the airport
- All entry fees
- Trip to Portugal includes transportation, hotel and breakfast. No meals.
- Explore Lisbon and its monuments
- Class meetings and pre-departure orientation at St. Bonaventure
Not Included in the program:
- airfare from the U.S. to Madrid
- personal expenses
- a valid U.S. passport
