The Office of Research and Graduate Studies fosters innovation by supporting UFV faculty and student research, and establishing partnerships and alliances with other post-secondary institutions, community stakeholders, and private industry in Canada and abroad.
Students benefit from the integration of research and education, industry partnerships, and hands-on graduate-level experience and training.
Faculty are encouraged to undertake multidisciplinary, collaborative research within UFV, and to develop strong partnerships with other post-secondary institutions to advance and share knowledge.

UFV is excited to hold two , a UFV Research Chair, and one BC Regional Innovation Chair. The Canada Research Chairs program invests in attracting and retaining some of the world's most accomplished and promising minds. Chairholders aim to achieve research excellence in their fields.
UFV's Centres and Institutes reflect the diverse issues that citizens in our region are concerned about, and mirror the long history of collaboration our university has with other vibrant groups and institutions in the Fraser Valley and beyond.
Students engage with professors with years of direct industry experience and research expertise. Early engagement in research can help students obtain scholarships, awards, and graduate school positions. Faculty are encouraged to incorporate research into their teaching.
